ADVANCED GROUND SEARCH AND RESCUE SPECIALTY SCHOOL (AGSARSS)Advanced GSARSS is a physically and academically challenging program. Upon successful completion, students will have all qualifications for GTM1, GTM2 and GTL (if old enough). Advanced students are also taught the required curriculum of the National Association of Search and Rescue (NASAR) SARTECH II rating. At the conclusion of the week, students will have the opportunity to take the official NASAR SARTECH II examination. Students will be assigned ground teams comprised of Basic GSARSS students and will act in the Ground Team Leader role. As ground team leaders, you will be responsible for the well-being of those on your team, as well as the successful completion of missions. Under the supervision of GSARSS staff, you will hone your leadership skills while advancing your ground team proficiency.

Advanced – Prerequisites

  • Completed General Emergency Services (GES) and Ground Team Member Level 3 (GTM3)
  • FEMA IS-100 and IS-700
  • Age 15 (Younger if Basic GSARSS graduate)
  • Completion of encampment
  • CPFT Category I
  • Basic GSARSS/NESA completion preferred
Senior Members:
  • Complete Level 1
  • Working knowledge of drill
  • Physically able to complete the PT test
